The “PlexMade” basketball jersey pays homage to a struggling kid’s journey growing up under the Dallas skyline, a product of the Oak Cliff community, motivated by an inner strength to follow a path to greatness on his own terms.
What started as an innocuous tweet on Dec. 25 by Aaron Lewis II turned into a Christmas wish fulfillment of a custom designed jersey.
“I'm really disappointed in @Nike @nikebasketball for not having any @NBA Christmas Day Jerseys ... It's been something I got used to over time. One of my favorite jerseys to see designed besides the All Star ones. Wish I could design one. Lol. #NBAXmas”
Aaron wasted no time. His rudimentary drawing was transformed into this fully sublimated jersey. Nube9 will be donating 50% of the profits to a college fund established for him Dallas Baptist College.
The symbolism on the jersey has very special meaning. His motto of Path to Greatness or P2G was inspired by the words of his idols: LeBron James - “Strive for Greatness” and Michael Jordan – “Become Legendary.”
